Kindness.

Kindness.

I wait eagerly for yoga class this evening. I’ve had an interesting day.  Yeah, interesting sums it up well.  A couple of very bizarre things happened throughout the day (bizarre is “code word” for not so excellent but not horrible) combined with some things that were really great and heart warming.  I chose to let go and laugh off the nonsense and put my mind and energy towards the positive, in order to create more positive. I am also grateful today for Stephanie who reached out to me.  Stephanie, your message on Step onto my mat was received during an interesting moment I was having.  I was extra appreciative to read your blog post in that moment.

The next time you enter your yoga practice, remind yourself to treat yourself and others kindly, to take care of your body and spirit and find equanimity in the space that lies between them.  Direct your positive energy towards your practice on the mat.  Kindness starts with being kind to yourself.  Practice kindness and compassion on the mat and act from that same place of kindness to everyone you encounter off the mat.  I’m certain almost all of us could be just a bit kinder to one another. Be driven by kindness, compassion and enjoyment.  Express your thoughts, feelings, speech and actions with kindness.  Look at the world through your eyes with kindness. Realize that kindness is our essential nature and be kind to all…

Lokah samastha sukhino bhavantu.  “May all beings everywhere be happy and free.  May the thoughts and actions of my own life, contribute in some way, to the happiness and freedom for all”.
