Eeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Look what arrived in the mail last night! Perfect timing to receive this package the day after our Memorial Day weekend training in Lake Placid with exactly 60 days to race day. I am so excited my tri kit is a perfect fit! I think I will wait until race day though to post a picture in it. I wish I had thought to order more race support t-shirts though for my family. I am so happy to have this opportunity to race Ironman Lake Placid on MMRF Team for Cures. It already feels real now and I believe I am doing this. Each and every single day I focus on these two things:
- Visualizing my race day as I train. I picture cross the finish line.
- Fundraising and focusing on fun projects for the MMRF. This is the most recent fundraising project and I hope some of you will help re-share or participate to raise awareness and funds for the MMRF. I still have IMLP race day tattoos too if you’d like some. I am $2,887 away from $10,000… which is my goal for June 15!
One of my family members lives with Multiple Myeloma and I will race with the MMRF team for her and everyone who is faced with the challenges of MM. I will also race in memory of my dear friend who left our world on October 24, 2014. She was the one who taught me to ride hills before my first Ironman and taught me so much more. The commitment I have made to race 140.6 miles on July 26, 2015 for the MMRF is extremely meaningful to me. Thank you to everyone who has supported my efforts by reading my training blogs, re-sharing, or making a contribution to the MMRF. Even the people who have re-shared these posts have reached people who have a personal connection to Multiple Myeloma. I really appreciate this. If you’d like support my participation to benefit the MMRF please consider re-sharing and if you’d like to make a tax-deductible donation your contribution will go directly toward the research and development of a cure for cancer. Any amount counts and it all adds up! Thank you for your support and generosity. I am so incredibly excited to be part of the Ironman Lake Placid MMRF team. I hope everyone’s training is going well and we will see you on the course in 59 days!
With love and gratitude,
