How cute is my passport yoga mat from Hunki Dori Yoga?  I love my new all Jute and natural rubber mat. It’s perfect for all styles of yoga.  It’s richly textured and grippy making it perfect for my power yoga practices. The mat put a huge smile on my face when I unrolled it for the first time this week. I’m just a little addicted to quinoa. Last fall I received Wendy Polisi’s The Quintessential Quinoa Cookbook filled with over 200 quinoa-inspired recipes. FREE Giveaway & Review: Wonderfully Raw Coco-Roons!

Oooooh yes!  A scrumptious natural, raw, organic, dairy and gluten-free snack discovery that I seriously love!  I came across Wonderfully Raw’s Coco-Roons (Cacao Nib flavor) this fall and had the opportunity to try all six Coco-Roons flavors on our Belize yoga retreat.  We all enjoyed snacking on them while we journeyed from the island into the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.  They’re the perfect little truffle size snack so it was fun to pass them around the van and try each flavor.

Coco-Roons are packed with naturally raw and organic ingredients, including dried coconut, raw almond flower, and unfiltered maple syrup. All of them are USDA Organic certified, no preservatives or chemicals added.  Flavors include Brownie, Lemon PieAlmond-strawberry “PBJ,” Apple Pie, Vanilla Maple, and Cacao Nib.  My favorites have to be the Lemon PieVanilla Maple, and Cacao Nibclosely followed by Almond-strawberry “PBJ,” and the brownie would definitely be a favorite for the brownie lovers. Okay, so basically I can’t pick a favorite!

The main ingredients for these delicious cookies include dried coconut, almond flour, unfiltered maple syrup and coconut oil. No preservatives are added and they are gluten free & dairy free.  At first, they reminded me of a mini-scone, but they are so much more of a treat than a scone!  The texture and flavor combination makes these a real treat.  The flavor is just sweet enough, although not overly sweet, with a slight rich and moist bite to them.   The truffle size makes them perfect to snack (delightful with a cup of coffee!) and also ideal for breakfast on the go.  Apparently they recently got nominated for best raw snack of 2012!

Sequoia Cheney, founder, of Coco-Roons was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, which was when she became determined to follow the road to good health.  After teaching raw food classes and selling to the community, Sequoia was encouraged to get her food to the market.  Thank you Sequoia for an amazing raw foods dairy and gluten-free product!

Brian shares stories through embarrassing, painful, humorous, successful and eventually peaceful experiences resulting in empowering and motivational methods that could potentially change people’s lives.  Brian Leaf also provides a series of appendices at the back of the book, offering suggested of yoga stretches, guide to meditation, relaxation, and an Ayurveda survey with health recommendations.   but more importantly a lot to learn in this little book about how to change your life and lead a healthier one.  I could quote countless phrases from Brian’s book that really stuck with me.  This is a funny, light, refreshing yoga read.   Check it out, it’s worth a read.
